Our History
In 1923, brothers Jim and Nick Harrell started their automotive career as owner/operators of a Reo Grande service station in San Pedro, CA. With a natural born need for speed, the Harrell boys found themselves heavily involved in land speed racing throughout the 1930s. WWII brought about some challenges in racing but this time away from the dry lake fostered the creation of the great Harrell Los Angeles cylinder heads and intake manifolds that we still produce today! The 1950s gave way some major changes in Harrell Engines participation in racing. Leaving land speed begin for drag racing, the Harrell brothers dominated Southern California race tracks for over a decade. With over 100 years in automotive repair, we have what it takes to keep your ride on the road!
